Our Philosophy

Keep the Family Memories.

Because the things we remember today become the stories our families carry tomorrow.
Who We Are

Memoirs of Love creates private documentary films about families, the people they love, and the stories they want to carry forward.

We believe every family has a meaningful story.

It may be the story of a grandmother. A childhood home. A marriage. A family tradition. A journey back to where everything began. Or simply an ordinary afternoon together that, one day, will no longer feel ordinary.

We preserve these stories through intimate, cinematic documentary filmmaking — while the people, voices, places and memories are still here.

Memoirs of Love is a brand of Lou Lou Productions.
What We Believe

Why now, and why for the living

Presence

Don’t wait

We often assume we will remember. The stories. The voices. The expressions. The little things everyone in the family seems to know.

But memory changes, people grow older, families move apart and stories disappear quietly.

So don’t wait. Ask Grandma the question today. Sit with your parents. Open the old photo album. Return to the family home. Record the voice. Tell the story.

Preserving a family story should not begin only after someone is gone.

Memory

For the living

A family documentary is not simply a record of the past. It is something we leave for the people who continue living.

A child can hear a grandparent’s voice again. A granddaughter can understand where her family came from. Someone not yet born can one day meet the people who came before them.

We preserve more than information. We preserve connection across time.

Why We Started
Every family has a collection of memories that exists only in the minds and voices of the people who lived them.
A grandmother’s childhood stories.
A father’s first job.
The story behind an old photograph.
A family recipe that has been passed from one generation to the next.
These things can disappear quietly.
We believe they deserve to be kept.
A Note
“I started this because I could not remember my grandmother’s voice.”

We had photographs. We had no film. Nothing that held the way she paused before answering a question, or laughed at her own stories halfway through telling them.

That is the whole reason this exists.

Thu Nguyen

Founder & Creative Director

Memoirs of Love began with a question she could not put down: how much do we not know about the people we love? It arrived the day she learned her own mother’s real birthday was not the one written on her papers.

Tram Doan

Producer

She watched films for everything most people miss — how a room was arranged, why a song played at that exact moment. Producing taught her that filmmaking is not about beautiful images. It is about preserving emotions.

Our Values

What we hold to

Every Life Deserves to Be Remembered

We believe ordinary lives hold extraordinary stories.

Listen Before We Tell

Documentary filmmaking begins with listening. We create space for people to remember, reflect and speak in their own words.

Preserve the Little Things

The smallest details often become the most precious memories.

Keep It True

Beautiful filmmaking should never come at the expense of authenticity. We want people to recognise themselves in their story.

Give It to the Next Generation

A family film is not only for today. It is a gift to the children and grandchildren who will one day want to know where they came from.
