The Slow Way Forward

People often ask me what my plan is for Memoirs of Love.

Will it become a full-time business? How many films do I want to make each year? Where do I see it in five years?

The honest answer is… I’m not in a hurry.

For a long time, I thought every business needed to grow as fast as possible. More clients. Bigger projects. More revenue. Repeat.

But somewhere along the way, I realised that’s not the business I want to build.

I already have a career I enjoy. Memoirs of Love doesn’t need to rescue me from anything. It exists because I love sitting with people, listening to their stories, and creating films that become part of a family’s history.

I don’t want that feeling to disappear because I’m chasing deadlines or trying to squeeze in one more project.

So I’ve given myself permission to build differently. At my own pace. To say yes to the stories that feel right. To leave space for ideas to grow. To enjoy the creative process instead of rushing through it. To spend time with the people I love. To remember that life comes before work — even when work is something I love.

If Memoirs of Love grows into something wonderful, that’s fantastic. If it grows slowly, that’s wonderful too.

Because success, for me, isn’t just measured by the number of films we make. It’s measured by whether I still wake up excited to make the next one.

So our philosophy is surprisingly simple. Work at our own pace. Tell stories worth telling. Have fun making them. Leave the world a little richer in memories.

And, ideally, make a ridiculous amount of money doing what we love. We’re still working on the last part.
